Custody and Record Contacts

Jackson County publishes no separate jail desk or records-unit line. The sheriff's non-emergency number is the documented starting point for current custody, release, or transfer questions. A written record request uses the official form, which does not publish an email submission route. Call before visiting because dedicated records hours were not verified.

The right destination depends on the question:

• For a local booking sheet or photograph, follow the request steps on the home page and submit the sheriff's official form.
• For a known court case or later disposition, contact Jackson County Combined Court at 396 LaFever Street, P.O. Box 308, Walden, CO 80480, or call 970-494-3501.
• For a warrant question, use the court and sheriff routes explained under Wanted Fugitives. A docket result does not prove every active warrant.
• For town-created Walden records, contact Town Hall at 513 Harrison Street, P.O. Box 489, Walden, CO 80480, or 970-723-4344. Town hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• For a person sentenced to state prison, use the Colorado Department of Corrections offender search or open-records process.
• For federal prison or immigration custody, use the official BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator. Those systems do not replace a Jackson County custody call.

The sheriff form says to allow a minimum of three days for a copy to be ready. It also says costs are assessed and communicated before delivery, but it publishes no flat fee. The form header names a former sheriff, while the live county directory names Dustin Weber. Use the form for the procedure and the current directory for personnel.
